The story

From intercession to incarnation.

C3 was shaped for the whole Asia Area. It adapts the theology and work of Bishop Alan’s Community of Three Friends, draws on Better Together, a theology of interdependence used area-wide in FMC Asia, and carries forward the Prayer for One Million.

  1. The roots
    Community of Three Friends

C3 adapts the theology and work of Bishop Alan’s Community of Three Friends (C3F). The three marks, Finding Your Three, the six-week launch and the covenant build on it, contextualized for churches in every country of the Asia Area. He sums up its spirit as L.I.F.E.: Living In Friendship that Evangelizes.

  2. 2022
    Better Together

AD Eric’s doctoral research at Fuller Theological Seminary produced the Better Together framework of biblical interdependence, now applied area-wide in FMC Asia. Its conviction runs through C3: each member contributes, each member receives, none is sufficient alone.

    Better Together
  3. BTC’25
    Prayer for One Million

The Prayer for One Million was launched at BTC’25. C3 is the next step: from praying for the million to befriending them, one empty chair at a time.

  4. BTC’26 · Chiang Mai
    Reaching for the Million

November 7 to 10, 2026. C3 is offered as one new way to make disciples: an invitation, not a mandate.

Where C3 fits

One road among many.

C3 does not replace what is already working in the Asia Area. It runs alongside these strategies, and beneath many of them, in the disciple-making lane.

  • Church planting
  • House church networks
  • Rural village outreach
  • One-on-one gospel sharing
“It is not the only road to the million. But it may be the road that keeps every other road from collapsing under the weight of isolation, burnout, and unaccountable ministry.”

The basics

C3, Community of Three, is three believers, reflecting the life of the Trinity, living in intentional friendship that naturally opens toward those who do not yet know Jesus.

It is one new way to make disciples in the Free Methodist World Missions Asia Area, launching at BTC 26. It runs alongside church planting, house church networks and other strategies already bearing fruit, and does not replace them.
